to this court came Jn Peirson and showed here in court a certain warrant from Rich Harlakenden esq under the seal of the said Rich the tenor of which in the following words Earls Colne be it known to all men by these presents that I Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the said manor of Earls Colne do by these presents give and grant unto Jn Peirson liberty and licence to fell or stub two oaken pollingers growing or standing upon his customary lands holden of the said manor and the same to burn and spend at or in his now dwelling house in White Colne or elsewhere at his pleasure and these presents shall be his sufficient warrant in that behalf provided always that if the said Jn Peirson his heirs or assigns shall not bring in this present warrant and procure the same to be enrolled at the next court to be holden for the said manor then this same warrant shall cease and be utterly void to all intent and purposes given 18.2.1612 Rich Harlakenden
