it is found by the homage that Wm Catte who held to himself and his heirs of the lord of this manor by the rod at the will of the lord etc one customary tenement with appurtenances called Garlandes as by copy of a roll of a court here held monday being 20.6.1603 here in court produced and clearly shown out of this court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Barth Clarke instead of the bailiff in the presence of Adams clerk and Thos Prior customary tenants of this manor the same testifying etc a certain parcel of land parcel of a yard pertaining to the said tenement containing in length about 60ft and in breadth about 4ft to the use and behoof of Dan Lee and his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Dan present here in court the lord by his said steward granted seisin thereof to have to the same said Dan and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rent of 1d per annum to be paid at the usual times for the manor in equal parts and all other services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
