Pakes Gate | whereas at a court here held monday being 23.9.1611 Rich Parker was admitted tenant of the lord to himself and his heirs to one tenement and about 10a of land lying against Colne Park called Pakes Gate with appurtenances as by copy of a roll of the said court brought here into court and shown fully binding and certain now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Rich Parker for and in consideration of his wedding afterwards celebrated between the said Rich and Eliz Crabb elder daughter of Wm Crabb of Colne Engaine after the last court and before this court surrendered the said premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Robt Cobb instead of the bailiff in the presence of Nich Boreley and Robt Crowe two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying according to the custom of the same manor to the use and behoof of the said Rich and Eliz and the heirs of their bodies between them legitimately procreated and in default of such heirs the remainder thereof to the next heirs of Rich forever who the same said Rich and Eliz now his wife in person came to this court and humbly sought admittance for themselves thereof to whom the lord by his said steward granted to them seisin thereof to have to them as previously stated to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty and were admitted thereof tenants of the lord |
