and furthermore the lord present in court granted from his hands to the said Wm and Smithea and the heirs of the said Wm a certain parcel of his waste lying next to the messuage of the said Wm in Earls Colne towards the public highway containing about 5ft in breadth and 5rod in length to be enclosed with pales and by the said steward delivered to them seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said parcel of waste to the said Wm and Smithea and the heirs of the said Wm from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the manor by the rent of 1d and fealty and for such a grant they gave their fine etc
