whereas at the last general court here held 15.1.last it was shown by the homage that Robt Stammer after the then last court viz 10.7.last surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jas Markham instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Potter and Robt Carter two customary tenants of the said manor testifying etc one messuage or customary tenement lying next to Tollhouse Greene called Wallers and a certain parcel of customary land pertaining to the said messuage to the use and behoof of Thos Stammer and Doce his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Thos forever as is shown by the said court roll which premises the said Robt took at a court here held 16.10.1633 now to this court the said Thos Stammer through Jas Markeham his attorney and deputy and the said Doce in person came and humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the said Thos by the hands of his deputy and Doce in person the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage and parcel of land with appurtenances to the said Thos and Doce and the heirs of the said Thos from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine
