whereas at a court here held 16.10.1633 Dionisia Hauksby then wife of Jn Hawksby clerk and Sarah Hawksby daughter of the said Jn and Dionisia and now wife of Jn Beareman were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and their heirs to one piece or parcel of customary land called Little Bridgmans with appurtenances abutting upon a parcel of land called Pitchards to the south and upon lands called Loveland late Thos Prior to the east and upon the lane leading from Earls Colne to Colne Engaine to the north as is shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Dionisia after the said court and before this court died and that the said Sarah herself survived and herself held the whole by rightful accretion upon which came the said Jn Bearman and Sarah his wife the same Sarah solely and secretly examined by the said steward and by agreement and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward the said parcel of land called Little Bridgmans with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Ralph Josselyn clerk his heirs and assigns who present in court humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said parcel of land with appurtenances to the said Ralph Josselyn his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord as by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty etc
