whereas at a court held for this manor 30.12.1651 it was presented by the homage that Dan Rogers senior clerk who held to him and his heirs certain customary lands and tenements called Parkefeild and Chewnes did since the then last court surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Robt Johnson in place of the bailiff and in the presence of Ralph Josselin clerk and Giles Crow two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing the said lands and tenements together with other lands by the name of all his customary lands and tenements held of the said manor to the use of Dan Rogers junior clerk his son and of the heirs and assigns of the said Dan Rogers the younger immediately from and after the decease of the said Dan Rogers the elder now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Dan Rogers the elder since the last court died and that the said Dan Rogers the younger is his son and heir to which the said Dan Rogers the younger by the hands of Wm Harlakenden esq his attorney and deputy in that behalf desiring the same the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver of the said lands and tenements called Parkefield and Chewnys seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said lands and tenements with the appurtenances to the said Dan Rogers his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine but his fealty is respited
