at this court Jn Allen did come in his own person and did in open court surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his said steward one cottage lately built and a parcel of land to the same belonging containing in breadth at one end 10rod and at the other end 4rod and in length 55rod more or less with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Stephens the younger and of his heirs and assigns forever which premises the said Jn Allen did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 12.4.1637 and thereupon the said Jn Stephens being present in court prayed to be admitted tenant to the same to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage and parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said Jn Stephens his heirs and assigns forever of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and of right accustomed and he gave to the lord for his fine and did his fealty
