and at this court it was presented by the homage that sitting the court and out of court the said Jn Stephens the younger lying sick upon his death bed did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Giles Crow the lord's bailiff and in the presence of Wm Adams and Jn Clerke two customary tenants of the said manor all that his copyhold messuages cottages gardens and appurtenances to the same belonging in Earls Colne held of the said manor by copy of court roll to the uses intents and purposes mentioned or expressed or to be mentioned or expressed in the last will and testament of the said Jn Stephens
