at this court it was presented by the homage that Jn Allen a customary tenant of the said manor since the last court that is to say upon 25.12.1658 did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Wm Hatch in place of the bailiff and in the presence of Wm Adams and Jn Rushbrooke two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing all that customary tenement called Sebrights with the yard garden and appurtenances to the same belonging to the use of Isaac Payne of Earls Colne victualler and of his heirs and assigns forever which premises the said Jn Allen did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 2.11.1643 and thereupon the said Isaac Payne did desire to be admitted tenant to the same to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said premises with the appurtenances to the said Isaac his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and he gave for his fine and did fealty
