whereas at a court held for the said manor 3.6.1656 Mary the wife of Jn Morley gentleman Eliz Nevill Grisil the wife of Hen Weales gentleman Bridget Nevill now the wife of Jn Sarjant clerk and Margt the wife of Math Butcher the younger gentleman the five sisters and coheirs of Rich Nevill gentleman deceased were admitted tenants to them and their heirs in coparcenary to certain lands and tenements called Pitchards with the appurtenances containing in the whole by estimation 18a more or less now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Eliz Nevill upon this instant 5.1. out of court and before this court did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Jn Morley in place of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Carter and Jas Day two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing all her fifth part purparty estate and interest of and in the said lands and tenements called Pitchards with the appurtenances to the use of Ralph Josselin clerk his heirs and assigns forever and now at this court and in open court the said Jn Morley and Mary his wife and the said Jn Sarjant and Bridget his wife did come in their own persons and the said Mary and Bridget being first by the said steward solely secretly and severally examined as the manner is and consenting they the said Jn Morley Mary his wife Jn Sarjant and Bridget his wife did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his said steward their several fifth parts purparties and their and every of their estate and interest of and in the said lands and tenements called Pitchards with the appurtenances to the use of the said Ralph Josselin his heirs and assigns forever and thereupon the said Ralph Josselin did come in his own person and desired to be admitted tenant to the said three several fifth parts of the said lands and tenements so surrendered to the use as aforesaid to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said three several fifth parts of the said land and tenements with the appurtenances to the said Ralph Josselin his heirs and assigns forever of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and he gave to the lord for his fine and was admitted tenant
