at this court it was presented by the homage that Jn Holden a customary tenant of the said manor since the last court that is to say upon 15.10. did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Thos Lunne in place of the bailiff and in the presence of Jn Clerke and Jn Aymes two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing etc one parcel of land customary containing by estimation 20p more or less late of Simon Warde and situate and being in Earls Colne to the use of Wm Gladwin his heirs and assigns forever which premises the said Jn Holden did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 4. 1.1659 by the surrender of Susan Bridge and thereupon at this court the said Wm did come and desired to be admitted tenant of the said premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward hath granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said Wm Gladwin his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and he gave to the lord for his fine etc
