whereas at a view of frankpledge with court baron held 12.7.1664 Edw Browne son and heir of Edw Browne deceased took for himself and his heirs by copy of court roll one messuage lately built on and three crofts of land called Bowerffield also Bowerfield with appurtenances except for about 7a3r of land parcel of Bowerffield also Bowerfield surrendered to the use of Hugh Potter (Hugh Johnson ) and except for about 3a of land parcel of the said Bowerffield also Bowerfield late surrendered to the said Edw Browne the father to the use of Sam Game and Jane his wife now to this court came the said Edw Browne the son and by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward the said messuage and three crofts of land with appurtenances except for the exceptions now divided into seven crofts and containing altogether by estimation about 20a with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Ann Barker now wife of Jn Barker of Kelvedon and daughter of Jn Marchant deceased and the heirs and assigns of the said Ann forever upon which came into court the said Ann and humbly sought admittance as tenant of the lord to the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage and croft of land with appurtenances except for the exceptions to the said Ann her heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the said Jn Barker gave to the lord for a fine for the said Ann
