at a court held 18.5.1709 Sara Ellis was admitted to her and heirs to one cottage onetime divided into two tenements adjoining the cemetery of Earls Colne one time in separate occupation of     Smith widow and     Danish widow and then in occupation of said Sara Ellis and after her admission in that court she surrendered the premises to the use of her last will now at this court appears etc said Sara Ellis after last court died seised and after came here into court Wm Ellis son of said Sarah and Eliz Ellis one of the daughters of said Sara and produced here in court last will of Sara dated 28.5.1709 in following english words imprimis I give and devise all that my messuage or tenement part freehold and part copyhold wherein I now dwell with the yards gardens and appurtenances to be sold within twelve months next after my decease by my son Wm Ellis and my daughter Eliz Ellis or the survivor of them for the best price they can get for the same as by the said will plainly appears thereupon Wm Ellis and Eliz Ellis present here in court humbly petition etc lords by deputy steward granted delivery of seisin by the rod to have and to hold said premises with appurtenances to Wm Ellis and Eliz Ellis to sell according to last will aforesaid etc give fine etc
