at a court held 8.4.1712 Dan Bailey was admitted to him and heirs to a messuage or tenement and garden called by name of Skinners and also the Kingshead and also to a croft of land with house built on it and a barn called Burtons Barn or Burtons Garden with right of entrance and exit by a gate to the said house viz from highway leading to Colchester to the said barn and through and across land called Bearcroft for carrying and recarrying both from the gate and from the said croft and also to one tenement called Gentryes and also to three crofts of land containing 12a more or less called Broomcrofts and to that one croft land containing 11a more or less with a certain road leading to said croft for hunting and chasing and also to one part parcel of Bearcroft containing 3a more or less and after in that said court said Dan Bailey surrendered by the rod into hand of lord all and singular premises with appurtenances to uses to be declared in his last will in writing now at this court it appears to homage that Dan after that court died seised after which comes into court Sara Marriage and produces here in court last will of Dan dated 27.5.1719 the tenor of which is in these english words item I give and devise unto my granddaughter Sara Marriage and to her heirs all that my messuage or tenement with the freehold and all lands meadows pastures and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid now in the tenure or occupation of Ambrose Stowers or his assigns as by last will plainly appears and thereupon Sara Marriage humbly petitions etc admitted to premises etc but fealty respited
