at this court it is found by homage that on 10.11.1732 Jon French a customary tenant of manor out of court surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of Sam Burton in place of the bailiff in presence of Jos Bott and Wm Peartree two customary tenants etc all the customary messuage or tenement called Francis with a yard and garden belonging with appurtenances situate in Earls Colne in tenure of Math Sarjant or his assigns to use of Jeff Cook of Earls Colne carpenter and Eliz his wife their heirs and assigns forever whereupon comes into court Jeff Cook and Eliz his wife and crave etc admitted tenants to premises etc
