at a court held 6.8.last it was found by homage that 22.6.last preceding Jn Bailey a customary tenant of manor surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of Solomon Grimston gentleman deputy steward etc all that copyhold tenement and garden called Charles Paines and one shop called the Forge with appurtenances situate next the churchyard in Earls Colne to use of Robt Pennock of Earls Colne husbandman his heirs and assigns forever and because none then came etc first proclamation was made etc
