at this court it is found by homage that on this instant 22.4.1737 Ann Raven widow a customary tenant of the manor surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of Solomon Grimston gentleman deputy steward according to custom of manor all her copyhold messuage or tenement called Pannells with appurtenances situate in Earls Colne then or late in the several tenures of Peter King Rose Arnold and Eliz Raven to the use of Thos Smith of London upholsterer his heirs and assigns forever whereupon comes into court Thos Smith etc admitted to premises and a piece of the waste granted by lord of manor in 1705 containing in breadth from the said tenement next the lane leading to the Hayhouse 6ft of a seize# and in length as far as the bounds of the said tenement on that side extend containing in breadth towards the street 12ft on the front of the tenement and extending in length as far as the bounds of the said tenement next the street etc
