Jn Uppryght and Matilda his wife in a complaint against Adam Crudde Roger Mordon and Jn Atte Chambre in a plea that they should return them 17a of land with appurtenances in Colne Engayne sometime of Rich Stephens of the aforesaid Colne which the said Rich surrendered into the hands of the lady and the lady granted back the aforesaid 17a of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Rich and Christine his wife and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated by virtue of which gift the aforesaid 17a of land with appurtenances descended and should descend to the aforesaid Jn Uppryght and Matilda his wife as daughter and heir of the said Rich which she now seeks and a day is given for the inquisition against the next according to the statute in that behalf and upon this the aforesaid Roger and Jn to defend themselves say that no such gift was made as the aforesaid Jn and Matilda say and upon this they place themselves upon the inquisition
