fine for Joan against the next because she is a minor and poor fine for Jn Sexteyn 8d item Joan Werde surrendered into the hands of the lady one cottage with garden adjoining with appurtenances situated and lying between a tenement sometime of Rich Lethiard and the kings highway leading from the Priory at Colne towards Colchester and the lady having thereof seisin regranted the said cottage with garden adjoining with its appurtenances to the said Joan for her lifetime thus that after her decease the said cottage and garden with appurtenances should remain to Jn Sexteyn to hold to himself and his heirs from the lady at the will of the lady according to the custom of the manor saving the rights etc upon such condition that if the aforesaid Jn Sextayne should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Joan or her accredited attorney 14s10d in the fo llowing form at the six feasts at michaelmas.next 3s4d and at xmas.next 3s4d and at easter next 2s and at the feast of the nativity of st john baptist 2s and at michaelmas next 2s and at xmas next 2s that then the aforesaid grant should remain as made to the aforesaid Jn Sexteyn that he should hold well and effectively and if there is default in any payment at any of the aforesaid feasts that then the aforesaid Joan Werde should be allowed to take possession of enjoy and hold the said cottage with appurtenances to herself and her heirs by licence of the lady and he gave to the lady for a fine as shown etc and made fealty
