fine 12d at a court held on monday in crastino after the feast of st hilary 14.1.26Edw3 whereas lately the lord instructed by his letters and directed Thos of Chabham the lord's steward that he should change the services and customs of certain of the lord's bond tenants called Adam Cruddes to whom services were apportioned at 24s by the evaluation of the manor namely in other services thus that the said services and customs of the said Adam and his heirs should be forever relaxed and the said tenement should be charged forever with other services namely that Adam Crudde should hold the aforesaid tenement to himself and his heirs should enclose or should have enclosed both with pales fencing and hedges around the whole of the park of this manor by taking the profit of the same according to the view of the profits as of the named custom and that the same said Adam and his heirs should mark out sheaves and stooks each year from eight acres of wh eat and eight acres of oats in the autumn at the will of the lord and mow one acre each year to make hay for the lord and make haystacks of half the hay crop of the said park and owe suit at court for all other services thus that he should have pasturage in the park for two fat beasts annually and one horse by agreement for the aforesaid enclosure to be ploughed and nothing for a fine because it is shown by the whole homage that this change is to the lord's advantage and at a general court held on thursday next after the feast of st thos the apostle 24.12.13Hen4 whereas lately Jn Stowe out of court surrendered into the hands of the bailiff of this manor in the presence of Wm Breton Jn Rouncy and other of the lord's tenants according to the custom of the manor one messuage with garden and 20a of land more or less being situated and lying in divers crofts of enclosed land called Cruddes with appurtenances with one way leading to the lord's park by one small gate called the wicket without doing damage to the lord to go backwards and forwards with one horse with free entry and exit annually to the use of Rich Abraham and Joan his wife to whom the lady thereof granted seisin to hold to the same said Rich and Joan his wife and the heirs of the same from the lady at the will of the lady according to the custom of the manor saving the rights etc and gave to the lady for a fine etc and made fealty etc and now at this court the lord granted ratified and confirmed to the aforesaid Rich and Joan his wife all their right and estate in the aforesaid messuage with garden and 20a of land more or less being situated and lying in divers crofts of enclosed land called Cruddes with their appurtenances together with one way leading to the lord's park by one small gate called the wicket without making damage to the said lord the earl for ingress and regress with one horse with free entry and exit annually to have and to hold to the same said Rich and Joan his wife their heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor saving the rights etc and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty etc
