sworn statement mercy 16marks 6s8d | whereas at a court with view here held on the tuesday in the week of pentecost in the time when Thos Aldrys was under steward here 17.5.7Hen6 it was presented that Lucy Ruffle on the tuesday in easter week now last past went to the dwelling house of Simon Oldehall and there Simon himself both with blandishments and threats and pleadings for money and coins got from Simon himself a sum of 18marks by deceit and from him and under the guise of custodian took and carried away and thus to this time unjustly kept against the peace of the lord king etc item whereas at a court on the monday next after the feast of st mary abbott in 8Hen6 it was presented that Jn Mille and Jn Hyne received and had 18marks sterling of Lucy Ruffle on the tuesday in the week of pentecost 17.5.7Hen6 which the aforesaid Lucy had acquired at the dwelling house of the said Simon in the aforesaid form when the aforesaid Lucy was arrested by the constable of this village by a precept of Thos Aldrys and he placed her in the stocks and she was imprisoned there until security was given that she would deliver the said money and thus she delivered the money to the aforesaid Jn and Jn Hyne in the church of St Andrew of the aforesaid Colne therefore it is presented to the bailiff to levy the aforesaid money of the aforesaid Jn and Jn by a precept of Edw Tyrell the steward of the lord earl etc item whereas at a court with view here held on the tuesday in the week of pentecost in 6.6.8Hen6 it was presented that the aforesaid Jn Hyne one of the chief pledge received and had only 16marks 6s8d sterling on the tuesday in pentecost 17.5.7Hen6 therefore it is presented to the bailiff that he should levy the aforesaid money to the use of the lord of the goods and chattels of the said Jn Hyne whereof he should thereof render his account before the auditors of the lord earl by a precept of the steward to the use of the lord earl etc whereof he was amerced |
