Earls Colne Jn Soneld amerced for 1r20p of meadow at Scalman Bregg | whereas at a court with view here held on the tuesday in pentecost week 6.6.9Edw3 there was a precept to seize into the hands of the lord the lands and tenements rents and services which were of Walt Wrich now Jn Sonneld (inserted) and now came Joan who was wife of the said Walt and showed a certain deed which testified that the aforesaid Joan jointly purchased with the aforesaid Walt sometime her husband a certain croft which contained 9a of land and also of 6s5d rent which was held from the lord for which tenement the aforesaid Joan made to the lord fealty therefore it is presented to distrain the tenant of the aforesaid land that he should be at the next to make to the lord fealty etc item Jn the tanner came and gave to the lord for a fine for licence to hold 1r20p of meadow lying at Scalmanbregge for a term of five years therefore it is presented to seize into the hands of the lord until etc and to return to the lord of the profits |
