Earls Colne inquisition heriot | whereas at a court here held on the friday in the feast of st nich the bishop 6.12.1331 Rich Lamberd inquisition(inserted) and Felicity his wife by licence obtained of the lord let to Robt Nooke 1a of land thus enclosed called Schortelond for a term of four years etc item now Jn (inserted) after the death of Jn Goseweld who held from the lord etc one messuage and 18a of land by the services of 6s6d after his death came Wm son of the said Jn and sought admittance to the aforesaid tenement and it was shown by an inquisition that he was his son and next heir and of full age and pledged a relief of 6s6d and after the death of the said Jn one horse was taken valued at 13s4d in the name of heriot therefore it is presented to enquire who should hold etc |
