fine 20d to this court came Wm Shorte otherwise called Poleyn and took out of the lord's hands one messuage called Michells with appurtenances with one croft of land containing about 2a with appurtenances lying under the park hedge parcel of a tenement called Gosses the Reve which lately were in the tenure of Jn Grove now dead to whom there was seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom etc by the service of paying to the lord and his heirs by year 10s6d at the usual terms by equal portions and he giveth the lord for fine for entry thereon to be had and made fealty and the said Wm and his heirs shall sustain and maintain a certain house builded in the said messuage at their own proper costs and charges except timber to be found by the lord and which house now shall be sufficiently repaired by Joan late the wife of Jn Grove now deceased at her proper costs to the hands of the said Wm Polein
