fine 12d condition Thos Wright present in court surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage with curtilage called Smithes with appurtenances lying opposite the Melhell in the presence of Wm Spery bailiff there and other tenants the same testifying to the use of Osbern Schepherd and Xian his wife and Wm Boome and the heirs of the aforesaid Osbern and Xian to whom seisin was delivered by the steward to hold to themselves their heirs and assigns by the rod at the will of the lord by the ancient services owed and customs according to the custom of the manor saving the rights of each etc upon this condition however that the said Osbern in person should find during his life and after his death should have delivered one cow valued at 10s or otherwise 10s for the obit of the wife of the said Thos Wright well and faithfully annually forever from now on kept up and also for the obit of the said Thos after his death agreed in the like manner and upon this condition seisin was delivered to him in the abovesaid form and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty etc
