fine 16d to this court etc came Steph Aschford and Jn Aschford present in court and surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage with curtilage adjoining and their appurtenances sometime Tymeott late of Jn Keme in Earls Colne to the use of Wm Wallere Jn Waller and Wm Permanter their heirs and assigns upon the following condition that if the aforesaid Wm Jn and Wm pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Steph his heirs or executors or his rightful attorney at michaelmas.1456 10s of english money and at the feast of michaelmas then next following 13s4d and it should be from year to year and at the annual times always paid at the aforesaid feast 13s4d until the sum of 4marks 10s should be fully paid and if it should happen that the aforesaid sum of 4marks 10s should be in arrears in part or in whole for fifteen days after any of the aforementioned terms whereof it should be paid but left unpaid that then truly it should be allowed to their aforesaid heirs and assigns by licence of the court to reenter and retake the aforesaid cottage with curtilage adjoining and their appurtenances as in their former estate the aforesaid surrender and seisin thereof freely made notwithstanding to whom upon this freely there is seisin to hold to the same their heirs and assigns by the rod at the will of the lord by the ancient services and customs etc saving the rights etc and they give the lord for a fine as shown etc and made fealty etc
