fine 12d (part of this entry torn away) to this court etc came Jn Aschford senior and Steph Aschford his son present in court and surrendered into the hands of the lord one tenement in Colne called Bowsies with 6a of customary land and one small croft of land called Lytilborwes with another croft of land called Stonyleygh with their appurtenances to the use of Rich Multon and Ralph Audele to whom freely is given thereof seisin to have and to hold to the aforesaid Rich and Ralph their heirs and assigns by the rod at the will of the lord by ancient services and customs saving the right etc upon the following condition that if the aforesaid Rich and Ralph should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Jn and Steph or either of them or their rightful attorney at the feast of easter next following after the date of this court 6s8d (torn) and at the fe ast of michaelmas then next following 10s and at the feast of easter then next following 10s and thus always paying (torn) at the aforesaid two feasts 20s until the sum of 46s8d should be fully paid and if they should default in any of the payments in part or in whole at any of the aforesaid terms thus mentioned above that then truly it should be allowed to the aforesaid Jn and Steph to reenter into the aforesaid tenement with the said (torn) pertaining and to hold them again and to keep them in their former estate the aforesaid surrender and seisin upon this freely given notwithstanding (torn) they gave for a fine and made fealty etc
