fine 40d | whereas to this same court came Alice late widow of Robt Audele and surrendered into the hands of the lord one tenement with appurtenances sometime of Gunnar Turnor and afterwards of Rich Multon with appurtenances to the use of Jn Hay Agnes his wife and Wm their son and Hugh Woodrove to whom the lord by his steward granted thereof seisin to them to hold to them and their assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord and according to the custom of the manor returning as a rent per annum 8d annually and upon the following conditions viz that the aforesaid Jn Hay should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Alice Audele 8marks6s8d viz for each of the years now next following after the date of this court 13s4d viz at the feast of easter now next following after the date of this court 6s8d and at the feast of michaelmas then next immediately following 6s8d and thus to be paid each year from year to year at the said feasts per annum 13s4d as the agr eed payment until the said 8marks6s8d should be faithfully paid and completed and if the aforesaid Jn Hay should default at any of the fixed feasts in any of the years in part or in whole of the payments to be made then it should be allowed to the aforesaid Alice on account of default of a payment of the said 8marks6s8d to reenter into the aforesaid tenement with appurtenances and to rehold the same as in her previous estate the previous surrender made notwithstanding on account of having no payment and it should be void and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty |
