Oldhall | fine 12d and it is found by the homage that Wm Hawke which held estate together with Osbert Shepheard now deceased and Joan late the wife of the said Osbert and now the wife of Wm Berton to them and the heirs of Wm and Osbert of and in one cottage with a garden adjoining and the appurtenances sometime Jn Litles lying near the Mellhill now called the Oldehall the foresaid Wm out of the court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands the cottage aforesaid with the garden and the appurtenances by the hands of Jn Materas the lord's tenant in stead of the bailiff in the presence of Wm Finche Jn Reynold and Wm Swattocke the lord's tenants the same witnessing according to the custom of the manor to the use of Jn Sakes and his heirs and the foresaid Joan being likewise now present in the court and being examined alone and secretly confessed and surrendered into the lord's hands the cottage and garden aforesaid with the appurtenances to the use of the foresaid Jn Sakes and his heirs to which Jn Sakes by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him and Marge his wife and Wm Finche their heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc and they give to the lord for fine and made fealty |
