fine 4d to this court came Thos Audeley gentleman who was seised in fee according to the custom of the manor of and in one tenement or a cottage with a garden adjoining with the appurtenances called Golds situate and lying in Colne aforesaid to the use of one Thos Brette late of Colne aforesaid now deceased his heirs and assigns and for the performance and execution of the last will of the foresaid Thos Brette surrendered into the lord's hands the foresaid tenement or cottage with the garden adjoining with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Marion Freeman now the wife of Jn Freeman sister of the foresaid Thos Brette and the heirs of the body of the foresaid Marion lawfully begotten and for default of such heirs of the body of the said Marion lawfully begotten or to be born to the use and behoof of Jn Sparrow executor of the foresaid last will of the foresaid Thos Brette to the intent that the foresaid Jn Sparrow should sell the said tenement or cottage with the garden and the appurtenances and the money thereof received to bestow in works of charity for the souls health of the foresaid Thos Brette and the souls health of all faithful people deceased as to him shall seem good which Marion being present in the court came and craved to be admitted to the premises and she is admitted the lord's tenant to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to her and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and for default of such issue to remain as above and the said Marion giveth fine for such estate thereof to be had etc and made fealty
