Hobstyvns Xfine 12s it is found by the homage that Hen Markwin and Humph Wingfield which held jointly to them and their heirs of the lord as of this manor by the rod etc one customary tenement with the appurtenances situate and lying in Colne aforesaid which sometime was in the tenure of Robt Stephens and late in the tenure of Wm Clerke and now called Hobestevens to the use and behoof of Jn Wingfield gentleman son of one Walt Wingfield deceased as in the leet with the court here holden on tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 15Hen8 26.5.1523 more at large appears the foresaid Hen and Humph died long before the last court seised to the use aforesaid and likewise say that the foresaid Jn died since the last court of and in the premises sole seised in his demesne etc and they say further that Ann now the wife of Edm Ashefield gentleman is the sister of the foresaid Jn Wingfield and next heir and hath right to the premises who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and because it is so found by the homage therefore she is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to her her heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and she giveth fine etc and made fealty
