Frances | fine 12d it is found by the homage that Isabel late the wife of Wm Cobbe deceased and before the wife of Jn Smythe who held to her and her assigns during the term of her life of the lord as of this manor by the rod etc one tenement with a garden adjoining with the appurtenances called Frances situate and lying in Colne aforesaid as by the metes and bounds etc to remain after her decease to one Thos Smythe and his heirs as in the view with the court here holden on tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 33Hen8 7.6.1541 more at large appears died since the last court of such estate seised and hereupon to this court came the foresaid Thos Smythe and craved to be admitted to the foresaid tenement with the garden and their appurtenances by force of the remainder aforesaid and because it is so found by the homage therefore he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to have and to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and he giveth the lord for fine etc and the said Thos made fealty to the lord |
