3s4d Sonellis and Bredgemans | it is found by the homage that Thos Rolte who held jointly with Joan his wife yet living to them and the heirs of the said Thos of the lord of this manor by the rod etc one messuage with a garden adjoining and the appurtenances called Sonells as in the leet with the court here holden on friday next after the feast of st james the apostle 30.7.32Hen8 more plainly appears and certain lands and meadows with appurtenances called Bredgemans the foresaid Thos died since the last court and the foresaid Joan survived him and yet still liveth and holdeth herself into the foresaid messuage with the garden adjoining and other the premises and they say further that Rich Rolte of full age is the son of the aforesaid Thos and next heir thereto and hath right to the foresaid messuage and other the premises with the appurtenances when it shall happen by and after the death of the foresaid Joan which Rich being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and hereupon the foresaid Joan being present in court surrendered into the lord's hands the said messuage and other the premises with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of the foresaid Rich Rolte and his assigns during the whole term of the life of the foresaid Joan whereupon the said Rich by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod etc and the foresaid Rich gave the fine and made fealty |
