13s4d | it is found by the homage that Thos Rolt which held jointly with Joan his wife yet living to them and the heirs of the said Thos of the lord of this manor by the rod two crofts of land called Warkmans lying and being together in Colne aforesaid as by the meets etc the foresaid Thos died since the last court and the foresaid Joan survived him and still liveth and holdeth herself into the foresaid two crofts of land and they say further that Rich Rolte of full age is the son of the foresaid Thos and next heir thereof and hath right to the premises with the appurtenances when it shall happen by and after the death of the foresaid Joan which Rich being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and hereupon the foresaid Joan being present in the court came and surrendered into the lord's hands the foresaid two crofts of land called Warkmans with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of the foresaid Rich Rolte and his assigns during the whole term of the life of the said Joan whereupon the said Rich by the lord's steward was admitted the lord's tenant to the foresaid two crofts of land with appurtenances to which Rich by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him and his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod etc and the foresaid Rich giveth fine etc and made fealty |
