fine 2s4d Charles Paines | to this court came Hen Smythe and surrendered into the lord's hands one cottage sometime built with a garden adjoining called Charles Paines lying in Colne aforesaid viz between the churchyard of Colne aforesaid of the one part towards the north and the way leading to Colne Park on the other part toward the south one head thereof abutting upon the church green toward the east and the other head thereof abutting upon the hall yard as by the meets and bounds etc to the use and behoof of Adam Polley his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and prayed to be admitted thereunto and he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents and services therefore due and of right accustomed and he gave fine etc and made fealty |
