Jn Greene complaineth against Thos Cocke in a plea of land viz of one messuage rentery and one garden with appurtenances in Earls Colne within the jurisdiction of this court and made protestation to prosecute his plea in the nature and form of the writ of our sovereign lady the queen of a formedon at the common law and found pledge to prosecute the plea aforesaid in the nature and form aforesaid viz Jn Doo and Jn Roo and prayeth process thereupon to be made unto him according to the custom of the manor against the foresaid Thos Cocke etc therefore according to the custom of the manor the contrary whereof hath not been known time out of mind there was precept granted to Jn Tostewood bailiff of the manor aforesaid and minister of this court that he summon by good summons the foresaid Thos Cocke that be be before the suitors of this court at the next court here to be holden etc to answer the foresaid Jn Greene of the plea aforesaid (not in D/DPr75 but in D/DPr76)
