it is found by the homage of this court that Jn Gonner before this court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of bailiff in the presence of customary tenants of this manor the same witnessing one little cottage built upon one little piece of land containing by estimation 1r late parcel of a certain tenement called Stacies alias Jn Adams lying on the west part of the residue of the said tenement called Stacies and abutteth upon the lane leading from a certain stile called Curdes Stile to the highway leading towards Coggeshall to the which he was admitted in the court here holden in 26Eliz1 to the use and behoof of Rich Sampford and his heirs to whom the lord by his steward aforesaid delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have to him and his heirs to hold of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and by fealty suit of court and rent of by the year and all other customs and services therefore before due and of right accustomed and for such his foresaid estate the said Rich Sampford made fine and fealty with the lord and so is admitted the lord's tenant thereof
