whereas at a court here held monday 5.1.32Eliz1 Margt now wife of Simon Grene was admitted tenant to herself and her heirs by the surrender of Edm Potter her brother to one cottage with a garden adjoining with appurtenances in Earls Colne aforesaid as shown by copy of court roll here shown now at this court came the aforesaid Simon Grene and Margt his wife in their proper persons and the said Margt solely and secretly examined by the steward aforesaid according to the custom surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward all and singular the premises with appurtenances to the use and work of Eliz Potter widow and her heirs forever to which Eliz present here in court is granted seisin to have to herself and her heirs to hold of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by rents services and customs before due and of right accustomed and she made fine and fealty and was admitted thereof tenant (nothing in margin)
