three item do you know or believe that the said Robt Partridge and Rose his wife were seised in fee simple at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor of Earls Colne of the said tenement and lands in the last precedent interrogatory mentioned as in the right of the said Rose and her heirs and so being seised they the said Robt and Rose in 31Eliz1 did surrender the said tenement and lands according to the custom of the said manor to the use of the said Robt Partridge and his heirs and that she was duly examined in the court of the said manor according to the custom in such cases used declare your whole knowledge herein and by what means and upon what occasion you come to know or believe the same
