to the third interrogatory this deponent saith that about twenty seven or twenty eight years ago he being in a field which was in the occupation of this deponent's father lying before the house where the complainant Rose did then dwell this deponent heard the said Rose beating of one Rose Cuckoe one of her daughters with a cart whip as was told him this deponent in so much as the girl ran from her mother and did leap into a pond from whence she was rescued from drowning by Wm Bridges then her mother's servant
