the replication of sir Hen Hobart knight his majesties attorney general of his highnesses court of wards and livery unto the several answers of Rich Harlakenden and Thos Harlakenden Theodore Goodwin and Mary his wife defendants in the information exhibited in this court by sir Thos Hesketh knight late attorney general of the said court against the said parties aforesaid and others on the behalf of the right honourable Hen de Vere earl of Oxford his majesties ward the said attorney for replication saith that the information exhibited by the said sir Thos Hesketh in this honourable court is certain and sufficient in the law to be answered unto and that he doth and will aver maintain and prove all and every such matters and allegations in the said information to be true in such sort manner and form as they are in the said information mentioned and alleged and further that the said answers of the said defendants are insufficient in the law to be replied unto the advantage of exception to the incertainty and insufficiency whereof to the said attorney at all times hereafter saved he saith that the said Rich Harlakenden and Thos Harlakenden hath in or one of their custodies certain ledger books registers writings evidences deeds of grant and rentals which do very plainly manifest and set forth that two parts the whole being divided into three equal parts of the tithes arising and renewing in and upon and out of all and singular the lands and tenements and hereditaments belonging to the manor of Overhall and divers other lands and tenements in the parish of Lavenham and of and in and upon and out of lands tenements and hereditaments belonging to the manor of Overhall in the parish of Bures St Mary Suffolk and Essex and of or out of all lands tenements and hereditaments set lying and being in the parish or hamlet of Stansted in the parish of Halstead in Essex do of right and by law belong and appertain to the king's majesty in the right of Hen earl of Oxford his majesty's ward and that the whole tithe of a field called Stonyfield Middlefield and Further Field and of 1a in a field called Smiths Croft and the whole tithes of divers other crofts of land in Maplestead Magna and a third part of the tithe of certain fields called Noke Field East Field and Ryecroft and the whole tithe of Great Prickmeadow and Little Prickmeadow in the said parish of Little Maplestead Essex do of right and by law belong to the king's majesty in the right of the said ward and that divers several rents in the several parishes of Ashenden and Sutton Halstead Maplestead Magna Maplestead Parva Hedingham Sible Hedingham Castle Earls Colne White Colne Colne Engaine Colne Wake Messing Stisted Pattiswick Mattshall Stansted in Halstead Fordham Pebmarsh Alphamstone Twinsted Middleton Lamarsh Wormingford West Mersey Aldham Tey Magna Gestingthorpe Edwardston Aldham Bures St Mary in the counties of Suffolk and Essex do likewise belong to the king's majesty i n the right of the said ward and that the said Rich Harlakenden and Thos Harlakenden have not nor either of them hath any right unto the said rents nor unto any of them and that the said Theodore Goodwin and Mary his wife etc (not transcribed as not relevant)
