to all christian people to whom these present writings shall come Godfrey Bossevile of Gunthwayte York esq and Rich Harlakenden of Earls Colne esq send greeting whereas Roger Harlakenden late of Earls Colne gentleman did 26.6.1635 surrender into the hands of the lord of the manor of Colne Priory one parcel of meadow called Hunwicks Meadow alias Bridge Meadow containing by estimation 2a and a half lying in Earls Colne or in White Colne to the use of Edw Clarke of Earls Colne yeoman his heirs and assigns upon trust and confidence and to the intent that the said Edw Clarke should surrender and assure the same to such person or persons as the said Godfrey Bossevile and Rich Harlakenden should by any writing by them to be sealed and described limit and appoint upon which surrender the said Edw Clarke was afterwards at the court holden for the said manor of Colne Priory 21.4.1636 admitted as by the roll of the said court appeareth now know all men by these presents that the said Godfrey Bossevile and Rich Harlakenden have limited and appointed and by these presents do limit and appoint the said Edw Clarke to surrender the said parcel of meadow with appurtenances into the hands of the lord of the said manor according to the custom of the said manor to the only proper use and behoof of sir Jn Jacob of London knight his heirs and assigns forever in witness whereof the said Godfrey Bossevile and Rich Harlakenden have hereunto set their hands and seals 4.5.14Chas1 1638 Godfrey Bossevile Rich Harlakenden
