29.11.1721 mr Jn Sparrows bond to mr Thos Lake to convey a messuage and lands to him in Earls Colne know all by these presents that I Jn Sparrow of Earls Colne baymaker am firmly bound to Thos Lake of Rivenhall yeoman in 70li etc 29.11.1721 whereas the above named Thos Lake hath contracted and agreed to and with the above bounden Jn Sparrow for the complete and absolute purchase of all those two pieces or parcels of land and pasture ground with appurtenances containing together by estimation 1a and a half more or less together with a messuage and tenement and several outhouses thereupon erected and built and also of all that pightle or parcel of freehold ground late parcel of Gilberts containing by estimation 1a more or less and also of all that freehold croft of land or pasture ground formerly called Bearcroft now called Windmill Field whereupon a windmill formerly stood containing 5a and also of one piece or parcel of marsh and meadow ground heretofore called Spriggs Marsh and now called Wrens Park containing by estimation 1r with their and every of their appurtenances all of which said premises are situate lying and being in Earls Colne and now or late in the tenure or occupation of the said Jn Sparrow or his under tenants or assigns and also all other the messuages lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever of the said Jn Sparrow situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid now the condition of this obligation is such that if the said Jn Sparrow and Sarah his now wife their heirs and assigns do and shall at any time or times hereafter upon the request of the said Thos Lake his heirs and assigns convey and assure unto him the said Thos Lake his heirs and assigns or such other person or persons his her and their heirs and assigns he the said Thos Lake shall nominate and appoint all the aforesaid messuage tenement outhouses lands meadows pastures and all and singular other the premises herein aforementioned with their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and that free and clear from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever had made done exempted suffered or to be had made done executed etc by the said Jn Sparrow and Sarah his wife or either of them or by any other person or persons whatsoever by the same fine feoffment release and confirmation or by all and every of the said ways and means or by any other ways or means in law whatsoever as by the said Thos Lake his heirs or assigns or his or their council learned in the law shall be reasonably devised or advised and required then this present obligation shall be void or else remain in full force strength and virtue Jn Sparrow signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Hen Kirby and Robt Jegon
