30.9.1673 by deed indented of that date signed Oxford and sealed and dated in the presence of two subscribed witnesses and afterwards acknowledged by the said earl on the 24.1.1674 before Edw Lowe a master in chancery and enrolled in chancery on the said 24.1.1674 being made between the right honourable Aubrey earl of Oxford and the surviving trustee for the donation setting and disposing of the place of schoolmaster for the free grammar school in Earls Colne in Essex of the one part and Geo Cressener the elder of Earls Colne aforesaid gentleman Jn Cressener of London grocer and Geo Cressener the younger of the Middle Temple London gentleman of the other part it is witnessed that the said earl for good causes and considerations him thereunto moving hath given granted and confirmed unto the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger and their heirs all the said donation free disposition and settling of a schoolmaster from time to time for the grammar school in Earls Colne aforesaid which is now void by the late death of Wm Humphrey and also all the messuage lands tenements and hereditaments of or belonging to the said place of schoolmaster of the free grammar school aforesaid and all the rents issues prerequisites and profits to the said place of schoolmaster belonging to hold the same unto the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger their heirs and assigns to the only proper use of them their heirs and assigns forever see 1.10.1673
