of Earls Colne the county of Essex cordwainer and

my wife the only daughter and heir of

late of Earls Colne aforesaid husbandman deceased in consideration of the sum of 5li14s of lawful money of Great Britain to the said
Wm Bateman
in hand well and truly paid by
Jn Cressener
of Earls Colne aforesaid esq at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said
Wm Bateman
doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof doth acquit exonerate and discharge the said

his heirs and assigns by these presents the said

being solely and secretly examined by

gentleman deputy steward of

esq chief steward of the manor of Earls Colne and consenting as the manner is did and do hereby in due form of law surrender and release unto the said

his heirs and assigns forever all their and either of their estate right title interest possession equity of redemption property claim and demand whatsoever in law or equity of in or unto all that part of a tenement called
Cocks
lying in Holstreet with a yard and garden to the said part belonging with the appurtenances now in the tenure or occupation of the said
Wm Bateman
or his assigns and holden of the said manor by copy of court roll which said part of the said tenement and premises were late the said
Rich Sillitoe's
and were by him surrendered unto the said
Jn Cressener
his heirs and assigns forever upon a certain condition mentioned and contained in a certain writing bearing date the

purporting a surrender as in and by the same writing may now more at large appear and unto which said part of the said tenement and premises the said

was admitted tenant at a court held for the said manor of Earls Colne the

his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use and behoof of the said
