easter Hugh de Ardene and Walt de Creppinge son and heir of Alan de Crepping and Alice his wife daughter of the said Hugh plaintiffs Alan de Creppinge defendant one carucate of land with appurtenances in Magna Teye two carucates of land with appurtenances in Colum Matild' and a moiety of the advowson of the church of Hanstede the same Alan Walt and Alice and Basila daughter of Roger de Torp plaintiffs the same Hugh defendant one carucate of land with appurtenances in Mapelterstede and Gestingtorp and 40a of land with appurtenances in Hathfeld and in Maching Alan granted to Walt the said carucate of land with appurtenances in Magna Teye to hold to Walt and Alice and the heirs of Alice by Walt doing for 120a of the land of the said carucate which are of the fee of the earl of Oxford the service of a fourth part of one knight and rendering for 8a of the same land which are of the fee of Reginald Fitz Alchin 2d for a scutage of 20s rendering also for a certain mill of St Edmunds which appertains to the said carucate of land 14d yearly Alan also granted that the said two carucates of land in Colum in demesne and rents in homages and services of free men in villainages and in mills woods meadows and pastures etc and a moiety of the advowson of the said church after his death should remain to Walt and Alice and Walt inheritance if Walt die without heir by Alice on her death the carucate in Teye shall revert to Alan and his heirs for this grant Hugh granted in marriage with Alice the said 40a in Hathfield and Maching viz all he had in those towns in demesne and service to hold to Walt and Alice and the heirs of Walt by Alice doing to Hugh and his heirs the service of one knight and rendering the yearly rent of 12d Hugh also granted that the carucate in Mapelterstede and Gesingtorp which Basila holds or his grant for life shall remain to Walt and Alice and the heirs of Alice as in marriage to hold of Hugh by the service of half a knight and the yearly rent of 2marks
