to all christian faithful to whom this present writing may come Reg Hollingworth of Bradwell near Coggeshall in the county of Essex gentleman sends eternal greeting know I the aforesaid Reg Hollingworth by reason of the sum of 20li of good and lawful money of England to me in hand paid by a certain Rich Enewes of Earls Colne in the county of Essex aforesaid yeoman whence I do acknowledge myself fully to be satisfied and paid the said Rich Enewes his heirs and executors and their assigns whereupon shall be acquitted and exonerated by these presents do demise# surrender give enfeoff release and by this my present deed confirm to the same Rich Enewes five crofts of land and one meadow to the same with all and singular the appurtenances situate and being in White Colne in the said county of Essex in the tenure of a certain Eliz Veer widow called Pecocks and Goldwires Obitlands to convey fully freely and entirely and in as ample manner and form accordingly as his grace our prince and lord Edward the sixth by the grace of god defender of the faith and on earth supreme head of the anglican church by his letters patent under the great seal of England now made and sealed bearing date at Westminster 12.11.2Edw6 the aforesaid five crofts of land and one meadow with its appurtenances being in White Colne aforesaid amongst others by which Thos Goldyng and Walt Celie esq with their heirs and assigns forever therefore did give and grant indeed fully freely and entirely and moreover in as ample a manner and form accordingly as I the aforementioned Reg Hollingworth the aforesaid five crofts of land and one meadow with their appurtenances late had or ought by reason or strength of the aforesaid letters patent given by the lord king aforesaid by Thos Goldyng and Walt Celie made or otherwise wheresoever in any way by right or title as indeed fully freely and entirely and moreover in ample manner and form accordingly as I the said Reg Hollyngworth the aforesaid five crofts of land and one meadow late hold to me and my heirs from the aforesaid Thos Goldyng and Walt Celie accordingly as by their former deed then to me made bearing date 16.12.2Edw6 plainly clearly and obviously to have and to hold the aforesaid five crofts of land and one meadow with all and singular its appurtenances being in White Colne aforesaid in the said county of Essex to the aforementioned Rich Enewes and his heirs and assigns to the sole and proper use and work of him Rich Enewes and his heirs and assigns forever to hold of the said lord king his heirs and successors by fealty only in free socage and not in chief for all services and and demands by whatsoever just as to the said lord king his heirs and successors howsoever rendering paying and making I the very aforesaid Reg Hollyngworth and my heirs the aforesaid five crofts of land and one meadow with its appurtenances and prescribe the said Rich Enewes his heirs and assigns to the use aforesaid against me and my heirs shall warrant and forever defend by these presents and further know I the aforesaid Reg Hollyngworth do assign ordain depute and moreover in my place empower and by these presents constitute my beloved in christ Barth Church and Robt Grene my true and lawful attorneys together or separately to enter into the aforesaid five crofts of land and one meadow with appurtenances and moreover seisin and possession then in my name there to take after entry and seisin and possession so then taken and thereafter to deliver for me in my right and name to the a forementioned Rich Enewes or his in this part certain attorney full and peaceful possession estate and seisin of and in the same five crofts and one meadow with appurtenances secondly according to the form tenor and effect of this my present deed there to him confirmed and approved and all and whatever by my said attorney in my name there made or by any other made of the premises by these presents in witness whereof to this my present deed I have set my seal given 24.12.2Edw6 for the king Hollyngworth
