this is the final agreement made in the court of the queen at Westminster on the morrow of holy trinity 18Eliz1 before Jas Dyer Rich Harpur Roger Manwood and Robt Mannson justices and others of the queen's faithful then there present between Jn Barrett querent and Wm Sammes and Grace his wife deforciants of 2a pasture with appurtenances in Earls Colne whereupon a plea of covenant was summoned between them in the same court that is to say that the aforesaid Wm and Grace recognize the aforesaid pasture with appurtenances to be the right of the aforesaid Jn and that the aforesaid Jn had of the gift of the aforesaid Wm and Grace and that they remise and quitclaim from them Wm and Grace and their heirs to the aforesaid Jn and his heirs forever and that afterwards Wm and Grace did grant for themselves and the heirs of Grace to the aforesaid Jn and his heirs the aforesaid pasture with appurtenances against the aforesaid Wm and Grace and the heirs of Grace forever and for this recognizance remission quitclaim warrant fine and agreement Jn does owe the aforesaid Wm and Grace 40li sterling
