this indenture witnesseth that Jn Pewter of Earls Colne put himself apprentice to Joseph Marion of London merchant and with him after the manner of an apprentice to serve from the day he shall arrive in New England unto the full end and term of eight years from thence next ensuing and to serve his master faithfully etc and during the said term the said master shall teach him what business he shall judge him capable of and keep him in food etc and at the end of the term to furnish him with one suit of clothes and also pay him the sum of 20s in New England money dated 20.3.1701 Joseph Marion witnesses Jn Paschall Jas Thomson
